Ride #1 – High Mowthorpe (38 miles) – is a shorter version of a 50-mile loop from Pocklington.
There are a few hundred metres of ‘A’ road but sightlines are good and through Garton on the Wolds the speed limit is restricted to 30mph.
This ride is a lovely introduction to cycling in the area and includes stretches of the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route as it passes through Sledmere, Duggleby, Thixendale and Huggate.
The highlight climb is Birdsall Brow with lesser gradients between Garton on the Wolds and Sledmere, and Huggate Road out of Thixendale.

Refreshment options in Sledmere, West Lutton, Thixendale and Huggate.
